Baccarat is that fancy French game favored by James Bond in a couple of the 007 movies.

It's similar to Blackjack except you try to hit a 9.

Aces and face cards are worth 1, all other cards are their numeric value except anything over 9 is determined by the value of the digits in the right side column, so any cards totaling 16 would be a 6.

Games are usually between the house (bank) and 1 or 2 players. All other players place their bets on either the Bank or the Player(s).

Who ever draws closest to a 9 wins.

In the event of a tie, all bets are off.

That's about it. See the enclosed Baccarules.txt and Baccarbets.txt for more information on the rules of Baccarat.

Also enclosed is a simple "odds engine" I made (baccarodds.exe) to help determine exactly how often a winning hand occurs during random play over a given amount of time.

Currently the odds seem to indicate approximately 6.2 percent, but I'm not really sure if that's accurate or not. I really only made the game -not knowing much about it- as an exercise in basic game programming. I just like to watch the little guy flipping his paddle.

And now for a dry vodka martini, shaken not stirred.
