                            ---Chicagopoly---

A ruthless, cut throat, no holds barred, laissez faire, cigar smoking, 
sausage eatin, Old Style drinking, shirt sleeves rolled up, 
deal making, kick back taking, gray pin striped, broad shouldered, 
windy, working, ball team stinks version of the famous real estate game. 
(and that's just my girlfriend talkin!)

All names are the actual names and "nick names" of various locations in 
and around Chicago.

        [*] = Press any key...
        [ ] = Press key pad (arrow keys), up or down.
        "?" = Waiting...(for you to type something)
                            
                            
                            ---Main menu---
        (s)ave:                       
        Saves your game and current time to the file Chicagop.sav

        (l)oad:
        Loads the Chicagop.sav file, and displays the time it was saved.

        (q)uit:
        Ends game.

        (c)ontinue:
        Returns to the player menu.


                         ---Player menu---
        (p)ay
        Send money to either the bank, or another player.

        (b)ank
        Send money to the bank for payment of fines, interest, etc.
        Enter a dollar amount and press [Enter].
        The bank always accepts your money, no questions asked.

        (*) another player     
        Send money to another player.

        ( ) Press arrow keys to scroll through list of players.
        Select player you wish to send money to, and press [Enter].
        Type in a dollar amount and press [Enter].
        The funds are then automatically transferred.
        If you try to spend more than you have, you will receive
        an Over drawn! statement.


        (c)ollect
        Request money from either the bank or another player, in payment
        for passing GO, collecting rent, private deals etc. Same as (p)ay.

        (v)iew titles
        Shows all deeds you currently own.

        (n)ext deed
        Scrolls through your list of deeds.

        (s)end deed
        Transfers selected deed to another player.
        ( ) Scroll through list of players,
        Select player you wish to send deed to and press [Enter].
        Deed is then automatically transferred.
        If the property is developed, you will receive 
        a Demolish first! statement.

        (r)eceive deed
        Requests deed from another player.
        ( ) Scroll through list of players,
        Select player you wish to receive deed from and press [Enter].
        ( ) Scroll through his list of deeds and press [Enter].
        Deed is then automatically transferred.
        If his property is developed, you will receive 
        a Demolish first! statement.
    
        (b)uild
        Erect house on selected property.
        When four houses are already present, a hotel will be built.
        Chicagopoly automatically deducts the cost of each house you buy
        from your account.
If the money is unavailable, you will receive an Over drawn! statement.

        (d)emolish
        Returns houses and hotels to the bank.
        Chicagopoly automatically credits your account 1/2 the cost 
        for each house you demolish.

        (m)ortgaging
        Mortgage or un-mortgage selected property.
        Chicagopoly automatically credits your account, and deducts the 10% 
        interest when un-mortgaging.
    

        (r)oll dice
        Rolls the dice

        (m)ove token
        Highlights your current position on the board.
        Press any key to advance token.
        Press [Enter] when finished.

        (b)ankrupt
        Retires player, along with all his cash and property from the game. 
        Player should distribute any remaining cash or property before
        ending his turn, otherwise they will be lost for the remainder 
        of the game.

        (e)nd turn
        Passes play over to the next player.

with 2 R.R. $50 
     3 R.R. $50 
     4 R.R. $200 

Utilities 
if one utility is owned then rent = 4 x die
if both utilis owned rent= 10 x die


Program was written using Microsoft's QuickBasic 4.5
Graphics were made  using ZSoft's PC Paintbrush IV, 
                          Expert's Color paste and print, 
                          and John Bridge's Picem.
