Fantasy Fest 2004

TOP SECRET REPORT: OCTOBER 30, 2004, GODZILLA SIGHTED ON THE ISLAND OF KEY WEST FLORIDA TRAVELING SOUTH ON DUVAL STREET. This year the theme for the 2004 Fantasy Fest Parade was "Delirious Dreams and Hilarious Screams" so we based our float on one of the most famous SCREAMS of all time, GODZILLA with crew dressed as Japanese paramilitary troops. Zilly was standard 2x4, chicken wire and plastic skin with lime-green floral sheeting. Uniforms were white painters jump suit with blue racing stripes and float number (50) spray painted on, plus yellow hard hats with Nuclear logo on the front. In keeping with the theme we also selected as our "throws" green beads (of course), chop sticks, rice (uncooked) and coconuts painted to look like giant lizard eggs. It also happened to be Godzilla's 50th birthday, (which just happened to be our float number), and a lunar eclipse so everything just seemed to click. This was also a year Rochelle, Dan and Cliff participated in the Pretenders contest, and Dan won 1st place at the Headdress Ball.
