Hints, tips, cheats and tricks for Maxis Sim Copter.

Instant Everything City.

There is an easy way to equip a newly imported Sim City 2000 map into SimCopter and immediately start playing with all choppers, upgrades and a bunch of money.

If you’ll notice, when ever you save a Sim City map as a SimCopter user game, SimCopter automatically generates or updates a data file by the same name, only with a (*.scu) extension.

This (*.scu) file is actually where all the juicy data is stored pertaining to your helicopters, equipment, and money.

You can copy/rename any (*.sc2) file to use the equity you have already built up in the (*.scu) files, or visa versa.

For example, say you have a city that you have played for a while in which either through normal play or the free stuff cheat codes you have acquired all choppers, all upgrades and a hefty sum of money called “Maxed.sc2”

“Maxed.sc2” should have a matching data file called “Maxed.scu”

Now let’s say you have just made a new Sim City 2000 map that you want to import into SimCopter called “Rookie.sc2”.

Simply copy “Rookie.sc2” into your "Maxis\SimCopter\My Saved Cities" folder

Now make a copy of “Maxed.scu” and rename it “Rookie.scu”

That’s it

Now when you start SimCopter and load a user game with the map called “Rookie.sc2”, it will automatically include all choppers, all upgrades and a bunch of cash.

Here’s a fully equipped Sim Copter user game file called “Everything.scu” containing one of each chopper, all upgrades, and over 50,000 dollars in cash.

Simply copy and rename this file to any Sim City 2000 map (but keep the (*.scu) extension), and you’re ready to go.

Because even using the free chopper cheat codes can get a bit tedious after a while, this saves a lot of time (and key strokes) from having to rebuild your fleet every time you want to try out a new city design.

Good luck pilot!
