Glitches There are numerous glitches, documented and undocumented throughout SimCopter, including the infamous gay citizen plant, the stuck citizen glitch, the eternal flame glitch, and my personal favorite the donut shop glitch. Donut shop glitch For some reason, every once in a while the roof top of a normally single patrolman police station will be crawling with extra officers. I believe this has something to do with depositing a policeman “out of zone”, that is, off the normal boundaries of a city map in the no-man’s-land beyond the city limits. This can sometime be accomplished by picking up a police officer on the rooftop of any police station, and dropping them off somewhere out-of-bounds on the map, (to the extreme north, south, east, or west of the city limits). Return to the same police station or hospital and there should (might) be a half dozen or more extra police or paramedics waiting to be picked up. The easier your difficulty setting, the more cops usually appear. I noticed when I do this in my Spike City map, I can get it to happen every time. Stuck Citizen glitch Do not be surprised if every so often a rescue victim, criminal suspect or transport passenger gets “stuck” between the floors of a building. They won’t be on the roof, and they won’t be on the ground either. They will simply be stuck in a position unreachable by paramedics, police or your rescue harness. If this happens you just have to ignore the Citizen and eventually the mission will expire without your assistance. You may or may not lose money and bonus points for this. Sometimes teargas helps. If you are really in a bad mood you can take the Apache helicopter and blow up the building. The Eternal Flame glitch The Eternal Flame glitch usually occurs where a fire simply cannot be extinguished and may be designated by a floating, revolving, black polygon, (a chunk of debris spinning in mid air) that seems to smolder forever. I assumed this to be the result of a nuclear, toxic waste, riot, or crash site fire. Results may vary. I basically just ignore them. Be careful not to fly over it. For some reason, Eternal Flames tend to be extremely hazardous to helicopters. |
