Page. Hints, tips, cheats and tricks for Maxis Sim Copter. Miscellaneous Here's some loose odds and ends for Sim Copter: Vega
SCURK landscape, naturally grown city.
Notice anything unusual about this map? It contains absolutely no intersections, traffic lights, or power lines (the bane of all pilots) anywhere. This map is basically a giant circle with only one road, beginning in the center and spiraling outward. Surprisingly, in SC2000, this city flourishes and has no brown spots. The funny thing though is once imported into Sim Copter, your Police, Fire, and Ambulance will be incapable of responding to a dispatch. You will receive the error message “All vehicles are currently on assignment” even though there are plenty of services available. How did I fix this peculiar bug? By adding a 1 tile loop at the end of the road. No kidding. Apparently Sim Copter cannot handle a city with only one road and no intersections. Not only will it be unable to dispatch service vehicles, it cannot even generate traffic. The roads will be utterly empty and you will have a 100% traffic free city. (Very Omega man). So I gave them 1 intersection. Curiously, doing this still produced no traffic lights. I got the idea for this city while watching the movie "Contact" with Jodie Foster. Human cities follow a square grid-like pattern. On Vega, the Veegan city is based on a circular pattern. If you have ever played Sim City 4, circular cities --where all services (School, P,F&H) are placed in the center-- are the most efficient. San Tropez Natural landscape, home grown city with special SCURK added buildings.
A tropical sea side community, very small with an international class banking center, the hills dotted with small cottages, villas and low income housing. The perfect place for an over worked pilot to get away from it all. . . . Play Ball!
As the heroic savior of the city (time and time again) it was with honor that I accepted an invitation to throw out the first pitch for the Sim Copter little league baseball team, the “Picayune Plums”. J's BAR
Since prohibition ended almost 100 years ago, I decided to open up an airport bar. Relax after a hard day’s work over a few beers with friends, compare notes, gossip, and watch every pilot’s favorite sit-com, “Wings”. :-)
